The Avenue Retirement Hotel: Unpretentious Comfort

Located in a village at the seaside, most services are available within two to three business blocks. There is a strong interactive community connection. We are a hotel-style living home.

A sound, well-maintained, sociable home with municipal utilities included in the package, with access to private home care, only if and when assistance is required.

We have lovely spaces in which to relax to suit any mood: braai, watch telly, play games, read, garden or just bask in the sun. Caring eyes, ears and hearts are here to notice if one is in need.

The hotel is so conveniently situated, it is easy for family and friends of residents to take time out of life’s busy schedule, to pop in and say hello.

Services Included in the Monthly Levy

Meals

Three meals are served daily in our communal dining room:

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Supper

Tea and coffee are available daily in our lounge in the morning and afternoon.

Health Care

Enjoy the benefits of:

  • A clinic once a week
  • 24 Hour emergency response system
  • First Aid responder on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, based at hotel reception

Housekeeping

Daily room cleaning service, including daily bed-making if required. Supplementary cleaning may be arranged at a surcharge.

Laundry Services:

Up to 10kgs of personal laundry, once per week linen and terry included (washed, dried and ironed where necessary).

General Inclusions

  • 24 Hour security guarding and CCTV.
  •  Public liability insurance.
  •  Water and electricity.
  •  Telephone and intercom system.
  •  Maintenance of garden and communal spaces.

Telephone & Internet

  • The in-room telephone and intercom system is for the convenience and safety of each resident.
  • Private calls made via the telephone system will be billed monthly to each resident.
  • The system provides for receipt of calls via individual/private number.
  • Wifi is available in the communal areas.
  • PC available in the internet lounge.

Television

Units have a TV point per a room for connection to our communal satellite dish. Residents will require their own decoder and be responsible for their DSTv contract maintenance.  A Multichoice commercial bouquet of selected channels is available at an attractive subscription rate, if preferred.

 

Animals/Pets

We regret, no pets are permitted.

Mail

Incoming mail is distributed to each resident’s personal letterbox located at hotel reception. Deliveries may be received at reception too for collection.

Everyone is different, everyone has different needs. At the Avenue Retirement Hotel our homely scale household allows for management to endeavor to listen attentively and respond positively to create your balanced independent-living lifestyle environment.

Care Services

  • Bathing Assistance.
  • Getting dressed and changing clothes.
  • Medication reminder facilitation.
  • Wound Care.
  • Private Care sourcing if required.

Other Services

  • Arrangement of drivers for excursions.
  • A hairdressing salon, independent of the hotel, is situated on-site and offers services fortnightly. Reservations are made directly with the hairdresser in advance.
  • Additional laundry charged per kg.
  • Guest meals joining residents for lunch.
  • Meals requested to rooms are charged a ‘tray charge’, however no charge is applicable in instances of one being indisposed.
  • Call out fee of medical practitioner (subject to availability of doctor on call).
  • Specialized room cleaning contractors.
